Grantsburg Watercross Camping 2026

Campgrounds open:
Thursday prior to the event at 12:00 pm (NOON). Early arrivals will not be allowed.
If you arrive BEFORE our gate workers you should expect that you may need to move a bit or reposition so that we can accommodate the campers around you.
Campgrounds close:
Monday after the event at 10:00 am. (Event staff and security are on hand only until the end of the event Sunday, but campers may stay Sunday night.)

Memory Lake Campground in Downtown Grantsburg
*Just a short walk to Memory Lake- where all the action is!

There are two areas within the Memory Lake Campground

Memory Lake Side Camping:
Directions:
Take West Olson Dr. north from Highway 70. At the corner of West Olson Dr. and S. Russell St. you will see your check in area.
Features: 38 full hook-up RV, Motor home or camper sites, and tent/small trailer sites on the southwest side of Memory Lake. Shower located in the bathhouse & porta-potties nearby. Check-in gate is at Olson Drive and Russell Street.

Park Street Camping:
Directions:
From Highway 70 take S. Pine St. north at the stoplight.
Take a left (west) on W. Madison Ave. (Main Street) for one block.
Take the first right (north) on N. Oak St. across the bridge.
Take a left (west) on W. Jackson Ave.
One block down the road will come to a “T” at N. Park St.
Take a left (south) on N. Park St. to your check-in area.
Features:
Shower facilities in the ML bathhouse & porta-potties nearby. Check-in gate is at West Jackson Street and North Park Street.

Park Street (PS) Sites: 20 larger, non-electric RV, motor home, or camper sites on the north side of Memory Lake, right along Park Street.
River R & W Sites: non-electric tent sites; some larger sites with room for pop-ups or small trailers. River-side sites with room for small or medium trailers

Fairgrounds Campground
*8 blocks away from the event, free shuttle service will be provided

Fairground Campground:

The check-in gate is ¼ mile south of the stoplight intersection of Highway 70 & Highway 48-87.
Features:
Electric RV, motor home, camper sites, and non-electric tent or RV, motor home, camper sites.
A free bus shuttle runs about every 30 minutes from the event to the campground from early morning until after bar time.
If you are camping with small children and would like to be father away from other campers please note that.
Shower facilities are located in the fairgrounds building & porta-potties are nearby.

Watercross Camping Rules
*Please review and be sure you understand all rules before purchasing your campsite.
*Be sure those camping with you are also well aware of the rules.


Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations can be made with a full refund on or before June 15, 2026 with a $25 cancellation fee.
Between June 15 and June 30, 2026 you will get a 50% refund, with a $25 cancellation fee.
After July 1st no refunds will be given.
Note: If you cancel your reservation, you will be giving up your campsite for future years.
No Show Policy:
Our goal is to fill our campgrounds! If you are unable to attend the current year but would like to keep your campsite for the future, you may pay for your site to keep it in your name. Please let us know no later than June 15, 2026 that you have it paid for but will not be attending. We will keep your site for you for the future.
If you do not show up and do not make prior contact, whether your site is paid for or not, you will forfeit your site for future years. We will not continue to hold your site empty for you.
Alcohol policy for Watercross Campgrounds:
Campers will be allowed to bring their own beverages of their choosing to their campsite. No beverages will be allowed inside the event. We would encourage you to bring an empty cooler with you so you can purchase beer, pop, ice, etc. to fill your cooler while inside the gates and watching the races! *Formula/milk for infants or young children is accepted.
Only one vehicle is allowed per campsite.
A vehicle permit will be issued and it must be displayed on your vehicle’s mirror. Any additional vehicles will need to be parked on the streets or at the Fairgrounds.
Only one sleeping unit is allowed per campsite.
RVs and motor homes are considered one vehicle and one sleeping unit; no additional vehicles will be allowed and no extra tents.
All campers must purchase a 3-day wristband at the gate and securely attach it to their wrist.
Children are included in this.
Generators
We allow generators. We would like our campers to use common sense and be “neighborly” to the people around them. We are packed in tight during our event so while we need to be tolerant of others we do expect everyone to treat their fellow campers as they would like to be treated.
All on-board RV generators need to be vented above the roof line of the RV.
Keep your generators a safe distance from other campers/ tents- being mindful of exhaust.
If your generator is loud be mindful and courteous of when it’s running, particularly at night. An investment in a quiet generator will make you very popular among your neighbors.
Overall, use common sense.
Campfires are only allowed in an elevated campfire ring with an enclosed bottom.
Rented campfire rings: $10.00 for the weekend rental. Don’t clean it—just leave it for us.
A $20.00 sod-replacement fee will be charged if an elevated enclosed bottom campfire ring is not used.
Campfire wood is available for sale by the bundle.
No firewood from across state lines due to diseased trees, per the WI DNR. All campfires will be subject to local weather conditions and the WI DNR’s approval.
No pets- anywhere!
This is a NO PET event.
No pets in the campgrounds or the spectator areas. We are pet people, too, but our insurance doesn’t tolerate them in such close quarters, this could shut us down. Please be respectful. Let us know if you are having trouble finding a place to board your pet.
No fireworks, open carry weapons, or assault items.
No ATVs, UTVs, golf carts, etc. UNLESS you purchase an “ATV Pass”.
This pass will be available through Kim Hallberg in June. Watch your email.
Nothing motorized along with the items listed above will be allowed into the event, they will stay in the campground only.
If you need handicap accommodations this will need to be made PRIOR to your entry.
Bicycles, scooters, remote control toys, etc. should stay in your camping area and should not be a hazard to other campers.
No umbrellas or sun shelters are allowed in the viewing areas.
Security has the right to remove any item that they deem offensive.
No loud music at campsites or in the spectator areas.
Drive slowly through the campgrounds and keep vehicle movement to a minimum.
Clean your camping area and place all garbage in trash containers.
This would be a reason to not be invited back in the future. We need to leave the campgrounds spotless in our rental. Please help us and our limited volunteers in keeping the campground clean! (We will need to pick up every cigarette butt and clean out every can from the fire pits so any help in this is very appreciated!)
ID’s will be checked and underage drinking of beer/alcohol will be enforced by the Police.
All campgrounds will be monitored by security and police-patrolled.
We reserve the right to evict anyone who does not comply with the rules.
If you are evicted there will not be reimbursed nor will you be able to reserve a site with us in the future.
We are not responsible for lost or stolen items.
There are no refunds in case of inclement weather.
No camping is allowed in racing trailers or on racing spots.
No camping/ sleeping is allowed in vendor trailers or in vendor spots.
Lost & found will be at our Command Center.
All camping reservations will need to be made through Kim Hallberg, Executive Director.
Respect other campers. You must keep your belongings in the camping space that you purchased.
